Student Experience for students & alumni

Are you a WUR student or alumnus that would like to contribute to improving our university? Then join our sessions and make a change! During the sessions, students have the opportunity to identify issues they encounter during their studies at WUR and provide possible solutions. With this input, we are able to formulate concrete improvements for WUR by clarifying the needs and wishes of its students.

Do you want to improve the education experience? Sign-up for upcoming sessions below!

Via the form below you can indicate in which session(s) you would like to participate in. Most of our sessions are held on campus during lunch breaks, with vegetarian lunches offered by us. Once you have subscribed for a session, you will receive an e-mail with more information regarding where on campus the session will take place. In case of an online session, the email will including a link to join the planned Microsoft Teams meeting. During a(n) (online) session you work together in small groups to share your needs, experiences and discuss possible solutions with each other.

We also offer these sessions for WUR employees and teacher, so if you are reading this as a teacher or employee, please go to this page to learn more.

You can join the following topics:

Dutch students with a migration background

Are you a Dutch student or alumni with a migration background (1st or 2nd degree), than we are looking for you! The percentage of Dutch students with a migration is lower at WUR than at other universities within the Netherlands. Therefore, the workgroup Diversity in the Bachelor is eager to learn from you. Why did you choose to study at WUR? And how welcome or at home do you feel here?

We would like to discuss your experience with you and other’s during one of our lunch sessions on June 27th or June 29th (from 12:00-14:00). A free vegetarian lunch is included. Dutch Bachelor’s, Master’s students or alumni (graduated in the last 5 years) with a migration background are welcome to join these sessions.

Boundary crossing

Boundary crossing is the ability to learn and work together across boundaries, e.g. cultural or academical-societal, and to co-create new ideas. It is the ability to recognise, seek, appreciate, and utilize tensions to create opportunities. We want to find out whether you, as students, think this competence is valuable, if you think it is being taught enough in your study programs and what your real-life experience with boundary crossing is.

Are you interested in the concept of boundary crossing? Then join one of our sessions in June on Thursday, 22nd or Monday, 26th. The sessions are at lunchtime from 12.00 – 14.00 and a free vegetarian lunch is included!
