Sustainable Development Goals

Our research and education are driven by the desire to gain insight and to contribute to the challenges and transitions our world faces now and in the future. To this end, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) are a critical guideline for our management and collaboration efforts.

To allow the younger generation to experience the value of a sustainable society, WUR has founded the Borlaug Youth Institute, part of the World Food Prize Foundation in the US. In an annual competition, youths are challenged to find solutions to one of the most critical challenges the world faces: the world food problem.

On 30-31 August 2018, WUR organized the conference ' Towards Zero Hunger: Partnerships for Impact'. The conference brought together over 700 participants from all over the globe. Click here to read the outcomes of this conference or watch the compilation movie.
