Introduction

Compl-eat™ is a flexible, web-based dietary assessment tool that enables (nutrition) experts to collect, calculate, and analyse detailed dietary intake data efficiently and accurately.

About the Compl-eat tool

Accurate dietary intake assessment is essential for nutrition research, clinical studies, and public health practice. Compl-eat™ is a web-based platform that connects detailed food intake data to validated nutrient databases (such as NEVO), enabling reliable intake calculations at both food and nutrient level.

The self-administered 24-hour dietary recall module uses a multiple-pass approach (quick list, detailed description, and final check) to improve completeness and accuracy. Researchers can distribute the recall via email, allowing participants to complete it online.

In addition, Compl-eat™ supports direct entry of food records and interviewer-administered recalls. The platform includes a recipe module, extensive nutrient computation functionality, and the ability to import data from other digital tools. Also, the computation module can be used to calculate recipes and/or diets for controlled feeding trial or experimental meals. Outputs include downloadable nutrient intakes per day or per item, ready for statistical analysis (.CSV).

Optional dietitian review ensures high-quality, validated datasets.
