Optimising organisational agility

Transitions in business environments create both opportunities and uncertainties, requiring firms to be nimble, flexible, and resilient. Our research aims to understand where and how firms can enhance their internal agility to effectively navigate these transitions.

Internal agility refers to an organisation's ability to adapt and respond quickly to internal and external changes and challenges. It involves the organisation's capacity to make timely decisions, allocate resources effectively, and adjust its operations to meet evolving needs. To this end, we examine how organisational structures, processes, and culture can either enable or hinder agility.

Another focus of our research is therefore to explore the strategies and practices that enable firms to be more agile. We analyse how firms can streamline their processes, structures, and decision-making to increase their responsiveness to changing market conditions.

Furthermore, some of the projects of our group investigate the role of technology and digital transformation in enhancing organisational agility. We analyse how firms can leverage digital tools, data analytics, and automation to improve their agility and adaptability.

Lastly, we explore the competitive advantage and other benefits that organisations can gain by being more agile. We examine how agility enables firms to seize opportunities, respond to disruptions, and stay ahead of the competition in today's dynamic business landscape.
