Library support for teachers
WUR Library supports teachers to include information literacy in their courses so students can learn this skill and apply it directly. The Library also offers support with using and sharing material with students in a digital learning environment or reader in compliance with Dutch copyright law.
Embed information literacy in your course
The Library offers a variety of learning paths and training materials on information literacy. These trainings teach students not only how to find information, but also how to critically evaluate it, use it responsibly, and apply it effectively in their studies. By integrating information literacy into your courses, you equip your students with a vital academic skill that supports them both during their studies and in their future careers as responsible changemakers.

The Library offers:
- Custom learning trajectories: Step-by-step plans to embed information literacy into your course.
- Training materials: Exercises, tutorials, and guides ready to use.
- Collaboration & advice: We help integrate these skills seamlessly into your course or programme.
Copyright for teachers

When sharing educational materials with your students, you must comply with Dutch copyright law. WUR policy encourages you to use hyperlinks instead of uploading PDFs whenever possible. In addition, agreements like the Easy Access Agreement allow limited use of copyrighted works in your courses.
Similarly, your students are also required to follow Dutch copyright law and should not upload or share your course materials on platforms such as StudeerSnel or Stuvia. If your own material has been shared on StudeerSnel, you can request for it to be removed.
Library resources for your course

As a teacher, you can request the library to purchase materials for your course. E-books can often be available within a few days; databases and print books may take several weeks.
And have you considered using items from our Special Collections, such as historical botanical books and drawings, landscape designs, information about historical fruit and vegetable breeds or old maps to enrich your teaching? Our curator of Special Collections can give a guest lecture on the rich historical material in the collections. These lectures can be tailored to your specific needs or requests and can be combined with a tour through the Special collections. For further information, please contact Special Collections.
